Data Deletion Instructions
This page explains how to ask Asas Labs Ltd to delete personal data. Whichever route applies to you, we respond to every request and confirm the outcome by email.
1. For End Users
This section is for people who exchanged WhatsApp messages with a business that uses our platform.
We handle those messages on behalf of that business. The business — not Asas Labs — decides what data is collected and how long it is kept, so:
- Contact that business first. It is the fastest route, and it is the party that controls your data. Ask it to delete your records; it can instruct us to do so.
- Or email us directly at admin@asaslabsltd.com with the subject "Data deletion request", and include:
- The phone number you use on WhatsApp, in full international format (for example, +972 5X-XXX-XXXX); and
- The name of the business you were messaging with.
We will verify that the request is genuinely yours, notify the business, and then delete or irreversibly anonymise your phone number and message history within 30 days. We will confirm by email when it is done. If we cannot identify your records from the details you give us, we will write back and tell you what else we need.
2. For Business Customers
This section is for businesses that connected a WhatsApp Business Account to the Asas Labs platform.
You can request deletion in either of two ways:
- Disconnect the WhatsApp Business Account from the platform in your account settings. This revokes our access tokens immediately and starts the deletion process; or
- Email admin@asaslabsltd.com from the account's registered admin email address, with the subject "Data deletion request". Sending from the admin address on file is how we verify you.
Within 30 days of a verified request we delete or irreversibly anonymise:
- Your account and configuration data;
- All access tokens we hold for your WhatsApp Business Account, which are revoked immediately on disconnection;
- Our copies of your message templates; and
- Your message history — message content and metadata — held on the platform.
If you want an export of your data, ask for it in the same email before deletion; once deleted, it cannot be recovered.
What we must keep. We retain billing and accounting records — invoices, payment records, and tax documents — for seven (7) years, as required by Israeli tax and bookkeeping law. These are kept only to meet that legal obligation and are not used for any other purpose. Backup copies are purged on their normal rotation cycle.
Deleting your data with us does not delete anything held by Meta on your WhatsApp Business Account. For that, use your Meta Business settings or contact Meta directly.
3. For Facebook Login and Meta Users
If you connected your WhatsApp Business Account to our platform using Facebook Login for Business or Meta's Embedded Signup, you can remove our app's access yourself, and separately ask us to delete what we already received.
Step 1 — remove the app from Meta. Go to your Facebook or Meta Business settings and remove the Asas Labs app:
- On a personal Facebook account: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, select the Asas Labs app, and choose Remove. (Open Apps and Websites settings)
- On a Meta Business Account: Business Settings → Integrations → Connected apps (or WhatsApp Accounts → Settings), select the Asas Labs app, and remove it.
Removing the app revokes our access going forward. It does not, by itself, erase data we received while the connection was active.
Step 2 — ask us to delete it. Email admin@asaslabsltd.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us the business name and the WhatsApp phone number or WhatsApp Business Account ID involved. We will delete the data we received from Meta — account identifiers, phone numbers, access tokens, template copies, and message content — within 30 days, and confirm by email.
